WOEFUL WORKING WOMEN (WWW)

Arindam: - Good morning, viewers. Can you see this office in your TV set? Yes, the name of this office is ‘NAUKRIWALI NAARI NIKETAN (NNN)’. This office belongs to the members of ‘WOEFUL WORKING WOMEN (WWW)’ union of India which is headed by a strong Muslim woman, Barkha Begum. Today, in this episode of ‘JAGRATA JANATA’, we are going to meet her. She is the Jagrata Janata of today’s episode. So, come on, let us go inside to have a chat with her.

Barkha: - Yeah, I have heard about this program ‘JAGRATA JANATA’ from many people. You, the people of ‘Royal Bengal Tigers (RBT)’ TV Channel are really doing a great job.

Arindam: - Recently, you have been threatened by an Islamic fundamentalist group, as you protested against the decision of fatwa on Muslim working women. If a Muslim woman works in any office, then it is Non-Islamic? Is it mentioned in the Quran that no Muslim woman can work in any corporate?

Barkha: - These Muslim fundamentalists are just crying out foul. When Prophet Muhammad was alive, there were no concepts of corporate. In those days, Muslim women were given respect and recognition. Nowhere in the Quran, is it written that a Muslim woman cannot work in any office.

Arindam: - Then, why these people are attacking the Muslim working women?

Barkha: - These men of Muslim fundamental groups are illiterate and good for nothing. Their passion is to promote terrorism. They have neither read the Quran by their own nor have they understood what is written in the Quran, when the Imams or Maulvis tried to preach them the correct teachings of Islam. These people only understand their own interests. So, by any means, in the name of Quran or Allah, they started preaching all false things about Islam to form their own group of people, who will help them to spread terrorism all over the world and they are doing that successfully.

Arindam: - Ok, that I understand that in the name of Jihad, they are killing innocent Muslims all over the world. But, in this case, why are they attacking the women?

Barkha: - They feel insecure about women. They are good for nothing and their educated wives will earn bread for their family; that thing, they cannot tolerate at all. If we such Muslim women are educated ones, why should we become terrorists like those uneducated Muslim men? Take my case only. In our times, I was a brilliant student in our university. I graduated with very high marks. I got a job offer, but my parents did not allow me to take that job. Rather they started looking for a Muslim groom for me. I got married to a son of a businessman. My father-in-law was a tailor and had a great garment factory. My hubby studied till class VIII. After my marriage, I started feeling as if all my time devoted towards my studies went in vain, as I also used to do tailoring in my hubby’s tailor shop. After 14 years of our marriage, my hubby died of a major heart attack. At that time, I am the mother of two sons. My father-in-law started abusing me mentally as he used to think that his son has died of heart attack, because I was the source of tension for my hubby. I decided to leave that house and came to my parent’s house with my children. I took a job as a sales person in a company. Within next 5 years, I got promoted as a Marketing Manager. And now, I am the marketing head of a reputed FMCG company. My elder son is an Assistant Scientist of ISRO. My younger son is studying MBA in Pennsylvania. Had I been not an educated woman, had I not taken that job, then my two sons would have remained as a mere tailor only and they would also have shouted like those hooligans that no Muslim women should work in any corporate.

Arindam: - Do you wear burqahs in office?

Barkha: - Nowhere in Quran, it is written that a Muslim woman should wear burqahs. We, the Muslim women are not criminals or terrorists that we have to always hide our face from the society. Muslim women are also human beings, at least they are not demons like the Muslim fundamentalist men.
